Meet at 9:45 am for a 10:00 am start
Pre-registration
Come join us for a beautiful ride up Mt Umunhum, a lovely peak in San Jose’s Sierra Azul open space preserve, and one of the 4 canonical Bay Area riding peaks (with Mt Tam, Mt Diablo and Mt Hamilton). The top of the climb offers 360 degree views on a clear day, with changing landscapes from the base to the top.
We will meet at the Campbell Park at 9:45am, be ready to roll at 10am.
The route will start at the Los Gatos Creek trail, go up to Mt. Umunhum through Kenny and Hicks. On the way back, we will go through Almaden reservoir, Almaden Park, then back to Campbell Park. After the ride, there are plenty of lunch options in Pruneyard, which is also near the Campbell Park.
Public transportation option: Take caltrain to San Jose, which arrives at 9:15am, and hop on Greenline VTA at 9:17am (https://maps.app.goo.gl/q3VDzMRBrR42zabX7), which arrives at the Campbell station at 9:34am. Campbell Park is right next to the station. No worries if you missed the connection, it takes 30 minutes biking from San Jose to Campbell, so you can still make it to the start on time.
