AIRcc is trading a little pavement for dirt. 🌲🚲

We’ve been wanting to bring more gravel into the mix, and we’re kicking things off in the East Bay. New terrain, different bikes, and a different way to explore the Bay BUT same AIRcc energy lead by Gabe & Elisa .

This route will take us through a mix of pavement, fire roads, dirt, chunky sections, and some singletrack, with a few steep climbs thrown in for good measure.

Expect a social but steady pace. We’ll regroup along the way, but because of the terrain and climbing, this ride is best suited for riders with some gravel/off-road experience.

Come get a little dusty, ride somewhere beautiful, and meet someone new. 🤝🏽

📍 Start: Rockridge BART – Outdoor Plaza

⏰ Meet: 8:30 AM

🚲 Roll: 9:00 AM sharp

🍕 Finish: Drake’s Dealership (Uptown Oakland) for pizza, burgers, beers + post-ride hangs.

A little gravel housekeeping!!! 🪨

Gravel is incredibly fun, but dirt comes with a few more prerequisites than our usual road rides. We want everyone to have a good time and be set up safely for the terrain.

This particular route is not very beginner-friendly. Expect some chunky terrain, singletrack, loose surfaces, and steep climbs.

We strongly recommend:

• 42mm+ tires
• Tires with some knobs/tread for off-road grip
• A gravel or capable all-road bike set up for dirt
• No slick or semi-slick tires for this route
• Hydration + enough fuel for the ride
• Flat repair supplies, tools, tube/plugs, pump or CO₂, and anything else you need to be self-sufficient
• Download the route to your phone or bike computer before we roll

We’re not trying to be the fun police, but safety and joy are equally important. We want your gravel experience to be a good one, not one where you spend the whole ride fighting your bike or the terrain. 💛

If this one sounds a little beyond your current comfort level, don’t worry. We’re hoping to host more beginner-friendly gravel rides in the near future so more of the AIRcc community can get a taste of riding dirt. <3
