42.3 mi, 4 LM, 3361 ft; Overnighter

Meet at the Carmel Ski Club Lodge at 11815 Deerfield Drive in Truckee. Ride will start at 10:00 but come early and I will have coffee brewing. Today we will take the Legacy Trail west along the backside of Donner Lake and continue up Old Donner Pass Highway to the summit. From here we will drop down to the Rainbow Lodge with a small detour to Serene Lakes. From the Rainbow Lodge we will reverse our route taking the frontside of Donner Lake to return home. Lunch back in Truckee.

Rooms are available at the lodge for $30 per night per person including a small chore (taking out the garbage, etc.). Shared men’s bathroom and women’s bathroom. Alternately, The Inn at Truckee is a few blocks away. We will meet at the lodge for cocktails in the evening to talk about the following day’s route and will host a meal or two at the lodge.
