TTT Ride Information for 9/17/26

Thaco Thursday Tours #5 "Foothill ParkVista Hill" (B+C/2.4/29)

This month's TTT route is a bit more challenging than the previous routes with 29 miles and a bit over 1700 ft of gain!.

Have no fear, we will have plentiful regroups, and we'll be rewarded with some spectacular South Bay Vistas!

This route up to and down from Foothill Park is probably new for most of you and does have about 0.6 mile of GRAVEL, and provides an alternative to climbing "dirty Moody".

As with all the TTT's we will ride at a mellow B+C social pace and no one will be dropped.

All TTT  rides START from Silicon Valley Bike Exchange,  @ 9:45 for a 10am roll out.

SVBEx is located at 3961 East Bayshore Rd, just north of San Antonio Rd on the east side of Hwy 101. Their parking lot is behind the building. (water & restroom avail.)

THE ROUTE: we'll cross 101 via the Ben Lefkowitz bridge, head thru Palo Alto with the first regroup is at Shoup Park in Los Altos at mile 5.3, with water and restrooms.

Next, we'll ascend El Monte and Moody into Los Altos Hills, with a regroup at the bottom of the short Gravel section.

This delightful 380 ft climb is one mile long before returning to the gentle climb on Altamont and Page Mill up to Foothills Park.

Once in the park, we'll descend into the Las Trampas Valley and climb the one-way road up to "Vista Hill" and enjoy the sweeping views of the entire Bay Area!

After our Scenic Vista Regroup, the descent from Foothills Park will take another unique (totally legal!) route back down thru Palo Alto Hills, via Alexis, to Page Mill, crossing under 280 and onto Old Page Mill to Junipero Serra.

After Old Page Mill, we have a quick yet playful ride through Stanford and Palo Alto that will get us to the Best Tacos at La Cazuela in EPA at mile 25!

After our Tacos repast, we ride a true bee-line back to SVBEx via the Bay Trail.

WW's all know this but please make sure your bike is in good shape, tires and brakes are all trustworthy and of course, Helmets are  REQUIRED.

The weather is looking good, with high in the 70's and no smoke or rain.

Be sure to bring your Water Bottles , maybe an early ride energy bar, and dress in light/bright colors to be visible to traffic!
