Ride Description

87 mi, 5 M, 6140 ft; Indians Road

Early bird start (as heat and winds increase later in the morning) from the "SVF" monument sign (next to Division St.'s southern sidewalk) at Salinas Valley Fair to the Jolon and Williams Hill quadrangles, see Mission San Antonio de Padua, deteriorated/rubble Indians Road (expect blockage and a rocky push bike traverse), Arroyo Seco, busy 101 shoulder, and finish. Suitable for gravel and mountain bikes, or road bikes if you're a Jobst Brandt disciple.

Indians Road is an old firebreak cutting north-south through the Los Padres National Forest. It is now a multi-use recreational path, offering access to trails in the Ventana Wilderness.

This is a rugged and remote area with no guaranteed water sources. You must consider carrying all needed water which can prove to be difficult due to the remote terrain. Start location: 625 Division St, King City, CA 93930 [Route/Map]
