This month'sĀ TTT route has a bit more miles and climbing than the 3 previous routes with just under 30 miles and a bit over 1500 ft of gain!
As with all the TTT's we will ride at a mellow B+C social pace with frequent regroups and no one will be dropped. (Unless you break your crank arm again!)
AllĀ TTT rides START fromĀ Silicon Valley Bike Exchange, @ 9:45 for a 10am roll out.
SVBEx is located at 3961 East Bayshore Rd,Ā just north of San Antonio Rd on the east side of Hwy 101. Theirparking lot is behind the building. (water & restroom avail)
The first regroup is at Peers Park in Palo Alto at mile 3.7, with water and restrooms.
Next, we'll ride across the Stanford Campus, ascend Sand Hill and cross 280 over to Woodside.
Through Woodside via Manzanita and Mtn Home, we'll pass Roberts Market, onto Canada Rd north with a fun little up and back into a quiet neighborhood, before we turn onto Jefferson at mile 14.5.
The delightful 300 ftwest sideclimb is just over a mile to a Vista Point overlooking Crystal Springs Reservoir and Hwy 280 out to the West.
We'll pause there for a moment, the high point of the route, and take in the surroundings and maybe a little surprise.
The descent will take a unique route back down to Jefferson, traversing the scenic grounds of a Buddhist Monastery you probably didn't know was there.
It's a quick trip via Alameda de las Pulgas to this month's Taco Stop, at Lulu's at mile 21.5.Ā Rumor has it that their Fish tacos are not too bad!
After our Tacos, we make a true 8.2 mile bee-line home through Menlo Park and thru Palo Alto via the Bryant Bike Boulevard, crossing 101 via the Ben Lefkowitz bridge.
WW's all know this but please make sure your bike is in good shape, tires and brakes are all trustworthy and of course,Helmets are REQUIRED.
It's too far out to predict the weather or the Air Quality Index, but if it gets well above 100 the day before, we will probably cancel the ride for health reasons.
Be sure to bring yourĀ Water Bottles , maybe an early ride energy bar, and dress in light/bright colors to be visible to traffic!
This year , we will have the usual WW Sign-In Sheet (Optional/for club mileage) and theĀ SVBEx will also have a Sign-In Sheet. (required for their insurance)
