A fabulous and challenging climb, this route takes us first to beautiful South Lake (el. 9,835'), then to Lake Sabrina (el. 9,138’). Good lunch option at Lake Sabrina overlooking the lake – see route sheet for water/food options. LONG option starts in Bishop. SHORT option starts on South Lake Road 1/2 mile from the Highway 168 junction. The EZ START option (need carpool) follows the SHORT route, then glides all the way back down to Bishop. This ride is co-listed with ACTC.

LONG START: Meet at the Wayfinder Hotel/Creekside Inn at 725 N Main St. in Bishop, CA. at 8:15 am for a prompt 8:30 departure .
SHORT/EZ START: Meet near the junction of Hwy 168 and South Lake Road at 8:45 for a prompt 9:00 departure . From Wayfinder Hotel/Creekside Inn, go R on Main Street, R on Hwy 168. At the junction with South Lake Road (15 miles from Bishop) turn left onto South Lake Road then continue 1/2 mile to paved parking area on right. (There are restrooms/water at Forks Campground, but please do not park at campground.
