A challenging ride to prepare for the Carmel Valley Double Century. Originally created by Peter Licht as an AA training ride, this route strings together many of the best climbing roads in the Santa Cruz Mountains into one unforgettable day!
We'll start at Lexington School and use Soda Springs as a warm-up before returning to the start to refill water bottles and top off food supplies. Riders who prefer a later start can meet at Lexington School around 8:45 a.m. and skip the Soda Springs warm-up. Please contact me if you plan to take this option.
From there, we're off to the cooler side of the mountain. If you'd like to shorten the ride, you can skip the Alba climb. I can provide a RWGPS route for that option.
Lunch is available in Davenport (turn right on Highway 1 instead of left) at Tacos Moreno or Whale City Bakery. Another food stop is available later in the ride in Felton. Start location: 19700 Old Santa Cruz Highway, Los Gatos, CA 95033 [Route/Map]
