Meet Fredo Cirne (walfredo.cirne@gmail.com, 408-931-4133) and Eduardo Colaço (eduardojmc@gmail.com) on the third Sunday of the month at 9:15 for a 9:30 departure at Burgess Park in Menlo Park (parking lot at Alma St and Burgess Dr).
This is a scenic gravel ride by the Bay, with few cars even when we are on paved roads. Starting from Burgess Park, we're going towards the Bay via Lindenwood, crossing 101 on the Menlo Park bike bridge. Once in the Bay, we pay a visit to the magnificent Bedwell Park before heading Southeast through the Bay Trail to Ravenswood, Byxbee and Crittenden. We'll then stop at Sports Page for lunch (and maybe a beer ;-). Return is inland via low traffic streets, avoiding the headwind by the Bay.
This ride is great fun, but keep in mind it contains a good amount of gravel. I'd recommend a gravel or city bike with 38mm tires or more. That said, if you are comfortable riding gravel with skinny 28mm tires, all the power to you!
