This is Day 1 of a 3-day bikepacking itinerary with a visit to the historic town of Locke during the annual Spring Festival. Start from Grant Park and Community Center to: Calaveras, Mt. Diablo Museum, urban retail resupplies for groceries, etc., and overnight walk in camp at Brannan Island (showers and restrooms). Bring lightweight compact overnight gear, full road lights and reflection, pocket food, cash and card for enroute donations and purchases.
