Word is Waffles wanted to do some dirt, so here we go. This course is a selection of some east bay classics. You'll get worked on the uphills and the downs, don't worry about that.
A gravel bike with 35+ tires can navigate this course, or a hardtail will probably be more fun. Ride what you've got; you can (and should) always walk when necessary.
We will regroup at:
Mormon temple
Bayview (JMP)
Top of Big Trees
Skyline gate
Bottom of Sibley whoops
Sibley parking lot
Bottom of dirt tunnel
Bring a helmet. Bring Lights. Bring Layers. Bring Tools. Bring friends.
As always, we ask that you respect the values that have made this ride a weekly favorite. We are here to be:
-- WELCOMING (Say hi! Make a friend!)
-- SAFE (Protect your front wheel. Ride straight and predictably. Point out obstacles.)
-- FAST (Push your limits, whatever they may be. Consider descending from major climbs to ride up again with friends.)
DISCLAIMER: Cycling is an inherently dangerous activity. You are ultimately responsible for your own safety. Never do anything that feels like too much of a risk. We are neither mechanics nor medical professionals; we cannot offer you much more than a phone call or an Uber in the event of an emergency.
Please download the route -- it is much harder to keep track of a group on the trails.
